10618NAT – Course in Firearms Safety

(approved for firearms licensing in Queensland)

A basic introduction to the firearms industry, the course covers the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes applicable to firearms legislation, firearms in the community, licensing requirements, safe handling, safe storage and transport, as well as additional information which is essential to all shooters.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for 10618 Nat Course in Firearms Safety (Approved for Firearms Licensing in Queensland).

This course meets the training requirements to apply for a QLD Weapons Licence for the particular categories selected.

Certificates will be posted within one week of course completion.

Entry Requirements

In order to participate in this course, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be over 18 years of age
  2. Children of at least 11 years of age can use certain firearms with approved adult supervision under a minors licence. Must have written permission to attend the course
  3. Must not have any physical or other impairment which would prevent you from handling firearms safely – if unsure, seek advice from your GP or contact us to discuss suitability
  4. Must not have any criminal convictions (relating to drug use, violence or weapons) in the past five years
  5. Must not have been a subject to a domestic violence order in the past five years
  6. Must not have been a subject to an involuntary mental health order in the past five years

Duration/Delivery

This course is delivered face-to-face over 6-8 hours including a live fire range practice at an approved range.

Resources and Equipment

All equipment will be provided and notes provided for referencing once the course is completed. Enclosed shoes needed to be worn.

Participants are asked to bring lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Cost of the courses vary depending on category. This includes all reference material and all ammunition for all firearms categories used. Please contact us for current pricing.

This course is necessary for professionals who are required to possibly destroy animals with firearms as part of their occupation. The course focusses heavily on additional firearms safety, shooting from different positions, how bullets kill, ensuing humane death to vermin animals and marksmanship out to 500m with bolt action rifles. AHCPMG311 - Use Firearms for Pest Control Activities from Aircraft

This is the course you need to complete professionally shoot from aircraft. Completion of this course enable students to apply for Civil Aviation Safety Authority clearance to carry and discharge firearms from aircraft. Depending upon previous experience the course takes several days and culminates with an aerial hunting activity on Vermin animals. Please contact us for pricing and course dates.

HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid

Previously known as Senior First Aid.

Course Details

This accredited workplace first aid course will prepare participants to handle most workplace and day to day emergency situations, to give participants the confidence to manage a sick or injured person using the principles of basic first aid.

Course Duration

One full day (generally 8am - 4pm) 

Resources

All participants are issued with Workbooks; these are to be retained by participant.

Assessment

Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.

Qualification

On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following units:

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

If an interim certificate is needed until official certificate arrives please notify us and we will issue one for you.

Reaccreditation

Current industry standards state this course must be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.

HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid (REFRESHER)

To enrol into this course, students must have successfully completed and hold a current Statement of Attainment for Apply/Provide First Aid.

Students must present their Statement of Attainment either prior to, or on the day of the course.

All States Training RTO #32577 is the registered training organisation that will be issuing the certificate that you will receive once you are deemed competent in the course you are attending.
